Momma

For the past few months my mom, sisters, and aunts have been telling me that Brody has been saying Momma but I always miss it and I didn't really believe them. Well then I started to hear it when he would be crying and I was like well that's just a sound in his cry well yesterday I REALLY heard it. I was getting ready for church and he was in his walker beside me and he started to cry, well I was making him wait a few minutes just while I finished my make-up and he looked up at me and was crying and saying Momma and Mum Mum and reaching for me so of course I threw my make up down and picked him right up. He is my little sweetie, my angel baby boy, the love of my life, my best little bud, my beautiful baby boy. I love that he is saying momma now even if it is mostly when he is crying ( I don't let him cry much.)

He has also been saying Da a little bit here and there and I love that too!!!

I thought Brody was going to completely skip crawling and go to walking but the past few days he has been pushing himself up more on all fours and he also pulled halfway up on our ottoman for the first time!! Please don't grow up too fast Brody Luke!! Mommy will carry you on her hip as long as you need!!!!!

Happy Birthday Les!!!

Today is my sister Leslia's Birthday, Happy Happy Birthday to one of my favorite Big Sisters:) I hope you have a wonderful Birthday!!

Last night we went to Lexington to celebrate her birthday ( which is actually today) and we went and ate at Merrick Place and back to my other sister's for cupcakes, ice cream, and a little bon fire. We always have fun when we are together and we definitely know how to celebrate birthdays!!

A doe a deer

Brody & I had just gotten home from running some errands today when my dad called and said " Wake Timmy up there is a deer swimming in the pond." Oh.. Timmy has been working 2nd and 3rd shift this week and last night he worked 3rd so that is why he was sleeping. So I ran in and woke Timmy up and we ran outside and Dad said the deer is gone, some dogs jumped in and chased her out, so we just stood there for a few minutes watching when all of the sudden some stray dogs had chased the deer back towards the pond and she tried jumping back in the water when she got stuck in the rocks around the pond. The dogs had almost killed her and she was cut everywhere and was so weak. My dad, Timmy, and my uncle John got a rope and tied it around her and drug her up out oft he rocks when she got spooked and ran back down and fell into the pond. She was so weak she could barely hold her head out of the water. I was so afraid she was going to drown and I could not watch so Me and Brody walked away. Next thing I know.. Timmy needed a life jacket ( just in case since the deer was so heavy) and said he was going in after her. So Timmy jumps in and pulls her to the edge and my dad and uncle tie the rope again and pull her out and put her under a tree. This happened around 12:30 and she laid there all day and we checked on her several times. My Hubby, Dad, and Uncle really tried saving her. They even this evening got her int he back of the Polaris and took her into a stable in the barn to make sure the dogs didn't get her tonight but when we went back to check on her she had died. It was sad..... but it was so sweet how they all tried so hard to help her and my hubby even went into the pond after her. He is an avid hunter but he has a soft heart. We see deer a lot living in the country but this was definitely the first experience like this.

Brody's 1st time to feed himself

Tonight I was giving Brody his cereal before bed and I was giving him his bath afterwards and I decided I would let him try and feed himself, just for fun! He was so cute, loved it, and made a mess. You will be able to see in the pictures we were using a spoon/fork because for some reason all of his spoons have disappeared! I don't think much went into his mouth but he had fun trying and hated when I finally pried the "spork" out of his fingers!

The past few days...

I have been meaning to post I just really haven't had a whole lot to say... nothing exciting has been going on around here. Well everyday is exciting but nothing BIG I guess. Timmy is working 2nd shift this week, so he is home with us in the mornings and then were in bed by the time he gets home at night. Brody of course is just the cutest little thing ever. He is napping in his pack n play right now, which I happened to just move out of my bedroom this morning ( since he hasn't slept in it since 4 months old) so he could nap and play in it during the day. It was election day here in KY to go out and vote for State Senate so we went with my dad this morning and did that, Brody's First election..He helped mommy vote :) Here are some pictures of my little man the past few days....

Brody loves to stand. He loves to hold on to your fingers and walk, he would do this all day if I would let him. He tries pulling himself up, but just isn't strong enough. I let him stand against things and he can stand and hold on forever!! I think he is going to skip crawling and be an early walker.

This weekend we were able to see baby Karsyn again. She is now 8 weeks old and weighs around 7 lbs. She has grown so much and is doing so well for being so premature!!! She is a dollbaby!! I loev seeing Timmy with a little girl, it is too sweet :)

First off.. Yes Brody is standing in the car and was out of his car seat, DO NOT WORRY.. the car was parked and we were not going anywhere.. we were waiting to meet some friends and was letting him stretch! He loves to stand and hold on.. plus look how stinkin cute he is in his little bloomers:)

See what I mean...

On my post yesterday I was saying how Brody loves going with my mom and she always lets him try new foods... well Me and Timmy decided we were going to start walking/jogging so we left Brody with mom for about 45 minutes last night and this is what we found him eating! We have a pear tree out in our back yard and he and mom were out there and she got him a fresh pear, took the core out and he loved it!!!!!!! It's good for teething! I brought him in the house and he just sat on the floor eating it and would hardly give it up!!!

So last night Timmy and I started our walking/jogging routine, it had to be done. I wanna get my pre-baby body back, if that's possible! I have just a few more lbs to go from my 65 I gained and plus it's time that Me and Timmy can just talk! We walked about 2 miles last night and did 4 tonight, yes my legs are sore. I think he is pretty hardcore for just starting to get back into things! So if any of yall see us out walking on the AA Highway, just honk..haha

Full belly & a nap with Grandma

Brody loves his Grandma, loves her. 2 things about my mom and Brody is when he goes to see his Grandma he knows he is going to eat and I always know he will take a nap. He loves to eat and my mom will give him tastes of foods his mommy doesn't. One day she was letting him snack on a pear, he loved it. But he knows when he goes to Grandmas she will feed him, of course just little tastes here and there but she always gives him baby food and he will eat like 2-3 jars at a time!!!!! He always wants to take a nap with his grandma too, his favorite spot to fall asleep is on Grandmas lap while rocking on her front porch, well the other day I asked my mom to watch him for a little bit so I could help Timmy with some things and I went to her back yard and there is what I found........ He always manages to get a full belly and take a nap with his Grandma!! Oh and this was his first time in his big boy swing, apparently he loved it.For Christmas my mom got me a front carrier for Baby Brody. My sister had already gave me a baby bjorn and I tried taking this one back to babies r us but they wouldn't let me so I just kept it. It had been in the trunk of my car for a long time now and I decided to get it out and just use it. I haven't used the baby bjorn for quite some time where it has been so hot out and the fabric is kind of thick but this one is a "Belle Baby Carrier--Organic Denim." It is so thin and lightweight and Brody loved it!! Yes he looks like he is hanging but he is fine, I promise! I need to use it while I can, the weight limit is 25 lbs! I love the baby bjorn but I would recommend this one as well since it is so thin and lightweight.

Baby Show

I put my son in a baby show. I really did. Of course I think he is the most beautiful thing I have ever saw and I don't need anyone to tell me but I just did it for fun. It is County Fair week here where we live so of course I joined in on the fun. I used to do county fair pageants, quite a few some may think it's silly I thought it was fun. Brody was in the age group 5-11 months and he got 2nd place! They were just to wear a plain white onesie and he just sat there and stared around, laughed, and smiled! He has his first ribbon to add to his collection of many more to come! He also won 5 dollars that went right to his piggy bank! I was a proud mommy! But of course he is so beautiful and precious to me, this was just something fun to do and even if he hadn't won anything I would have been fine. Remember I used to do them all the time, you win and you lose and it's all fun!!!

Biting....

My sweet sweet baby boy..... Isn't he just precious? I sure do think so. As you all know I nurse Brody and were still going strong. Brody wouldn't ever take a bottle of pumped milk, and wouldn't take any juice out of a bottle until almost 6 months. He still doesn't always like it but will take juice now. So anyways.. Brody has 2 bottom teeth now and he is really learning how to use them if you know what I mean, he is biting the heck out of me!!!!! He has done it a few times before but never too bad but here lately it is bad and it hurts!! I am not giving up though, but you Mommas out there that nurse ever had this problem? How did it get better or did it?? I decided before Brody was born I wanted to nurse him for at least a year ( when I will start nursing program) so how do you wean them when they are this old? I may do it a little earlier with the biting and all? I have tried giving him formula in a bottle, are you kidding me? Like I ever thought that could work!!! Please give me some tips and tricks for weaning now or weaning when he is a year which isn't too far away!!!!!!

Bachelorette Party!

My Best Friend Laura is getting married September 12th, so soon!! So Saturday night I had her a Bachelorette party/girls evening to celebrate! We went out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant Toro Loco, for dinner and some had drinks and then back to my house for a "Sweet's party" champagne and strawberries and to open gifts!! It was a lot of fun and Laura got a lot of cute things!!! I can't wait for her wedding ( I'm her matron of honor). She is going to be such a beautiful bride!!!!!!!!! Be looking for her wedding post in a few weeks!! Here are some pictures of our fun evening! I have a ton of pictures but just narrowed it down to a few so you could see how much fun we had :) Oh and I think everyone was gone and I was in bed by 11:30 :) So much changes in just a few years!! We still had so much fun!! I have the Best Friends EVER!

Oh my sister Lindsey was in for the weekend and she watched Brody for me but as soon as we got back to my house he wanted his momma and as soon as I got him he fell right to sleep and he continued to sleep the rest of the evening. He is such a sweet sweet boy.
