Hudson's Birth Story

Hudson's Arrival

Has it already been a week since we welcomed swete baby Hudson into our family? Time is already flying by! I feel like I have been living in a dream the last week. I had a wonderful labor and delivery, I didn't even have a recovery ( I felt/feel that great), I have a healthy sweet baby boy, Brody is a wonderufl big brother, a wonderful husband, and amazing family and friends... I have truly felt blessed!!!!!

This is the Sunday (2-12-12) before I went in for induction, Brody was giving his baby brother kisses!!

We had all been anticipating the arrival of sweet Hudson, I had been dilated a 3-4 and 75% effaced for about 2 weeks and having irregular contractions but he just was not wanting to come on his own. My DR said she would induce anytime after 39 weeks if I wanted, and I am sorry but I am impatient plus I was miserable so of course I said YES! I turned 39 weeks on the 10th and my DR was on vacation that week so we decided on the 13th!

Right before we left for the hospital on 2-13-12

I didn't sleep hardly at all on Sunday night due to my excitement and I hadn't been sleeping well the last few months anyway due to pregnancy. I woke up at 5:00 so I could take my time getting ready and make sure I had everything ready to go so that we could be at the hospital at 7:00. My mom came over and got in bed with Brody so we didn't have to wake him up. We got to the hospital at 7:00 and got checked in and settled into a room (3003) to get things started. I got lucky and got two wonderful nurses Jo and Marissa who made me feel so comfortable and who were just awesome! It was around 9:15 that they had gotten all my IV's started and they started the pitocin. I was dilated a 4 and 75 % effaced at this point. The contractions started and were not very painful at all, I have a very high pain tolerance. I knew this time that I wanted to make sure and get an epidural before it was too late and the pain was too intense (which is what I did with Brody and it was too late once I got the epidural, it didn't take, I was ready to push and felt it all.) They turned my pitocin up and I started to feel the contractions more but were still not what I would consider painful, just a little uncomfortable. I decided to go ahead and ask for the epidural so I knew that I got it. Got the epidural which didn't hurt at all but I will say I didn't really like the way it made me feel. I didn't feel the contractions which was awesome but it made me feel so tingly and sluggish all over.
Once I got the epidural I was checked again and was a 5-6 85% effaced and they decided to break my water. A resident DR broke my water but nothing came out, she said that was fine and that it was probably all behind the baby. After that I decided to try and rest a bit and took a nap. My nurse Jo came in and said she wanted me to get on my left side to see if we could get things moving, it wasn't 10 minutes after I had gotten on my side that I started feeling pressure. Sure enough the resident DR came in and checked me and I was a 10 and 100% effaced. They paged my DR and started getting the room ready. It wasn't painful what I could feel just pressure. Once my DR got in the room and everything was ready they put me on my back and it was time to start pushing!!!!!!! With ONLY 4 pushes ( couldn't believe that) Hudson Trent had made his arrival!!!! I knew he was going to be a big boy... he was 9 lb and 2 oz and 21 inches long!!!!! He was bruised quite a bit and swollen when he came out, DR said it was where he came so fast. He also swallowed quite a bit of fluid where it was all behind him, but was very strong and healthy!!!! I had a wonderful labor and delivery and my heart just melted as soon as I laid my eyes on my sweet baby boy!! What a gift from God!

Right after he was born my family all came into the room and Brody got to meet his baby brother! What a moment that was, seeing my first born meet his baby brother. I couldn't believe I now had two precious healthy baby boys!!

I couldn't have asked for a better labor and delivery or recovery. I was able to get up once my epidural had wore off and didn't have much pain at all. The worst of my pain was the cramping and I also had a little pain in my back from the epidural. I have not had to lay around or anything and have felt awesome!! I had a good pregnancy but I felt so much better right after. No more heart burn, pelvic/hip pain, acid reflux, or a 9 lb baby in my belly!!

I am so thankful for my awesome labor, delivery, recovery and most of all........ Hudson Trent!!!!!!!!

Blessed

It seems like just yesterday that I was blessed with my first little boy, Brody Luke. It seems like just yesterday I was heading to the hospital awaiting his arrival and I was so excited. I didn't know what was to come but the moment he was born I knew just how blessed I had been. As I sit here and type this the night before I go to the hospital to meet my 2nd son and once again be blessed I have so many thoughts running through my head. It is hard to imagine the love for a child until you have your own. Brody is my world, my life and being a good, christian mother to him is so important to me. My heart is so full of joy and happiness to know that I have been blessed with another son to be a mother too. I pray that I will always be able to be the best mother that I can to my two sweet boys. Although they may be children of God I hope and pray that they will grow up to be men of God. I feel so blessed that I am chosen to raise two boys. My heart is so full of love for Brody that it is hard for me to imagine right now having another son to love and take care of, my heart may just explode. Tonight I am feeling so unbelievably blessed!!!!!

Tomorrow is the big day........
I will be a mom to two precious baby boys!!!!!!!!

Meeting Tate & Snow

My childhood friend Whitney was blessed with her sweet baby boy right before Christmas and she made her 1st trip back home with him and came up for a visit so we could meet her precious William Tate! He sure is a doll!!!! Brody absolutely LOVED him. Whitney let him help change him and feed him and he did a great job! He was really wanting to take care of him and he kept bringing him toys and even read his bible book to him. He kept saying he was an "adorable little baby." It made me so excited for what it is to come with Hudson. He was so gentle and sweet with him! I think he is going to be a great big brother!!!!!!!! It was great to finally get to meet Tate and to visit with Whitney whom I don't get to see very often!!

Whitney, Tate &Brody- such a big helper!

Brody & Tate

Sweet little boys!

It began snowing here around 3:00 and we have a little dusting but may be getting more later tonight. I am okay with the little dusting and nothing more. Timmy is on his way home, yay! Can't wait for him to be home for a few weeks! We are having a family day tomorrow, not sure what all we are going to do but were having our last full day as a family of 3! Can't wait!

I have been working on my spring wreath so it is done before Hudson comes since I know I won't have alot of extra time, especially to make a time consuming spring wreath and Brody LOVES to help!
Brody hadn't napped all day and he was playing with his cars when I looked in the living room this is what I saw!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

39 weeks

39 Weeks
How Far Along: 39 weeks!!!!!
Size of baby: I would say around 8 lbs if I could guess. At my last ultrasound at 37 weeks he was measuring around 7 lbs.
Gender: BOY!
Maternity Clothes: Yes and I can't wait to trash them all in just a few days :)
Weight Gain: About 50 lbs.... I gain alot when I am pregnant, I know that and I'm used to it and I still stay healthy. I would gain 100 lbs for my precious blessing!!!!!

Movement: Of course I still feel him move, especially at night time but since he is so big and I am running out of room I more so feel him ball up and my stomach gets so hard. Last night it was pretty neat, it was like he run his little foot across my stomach. I love his movements!
Sleep: What is sleep? I am up about 5 times a night to pee and I toss and turn because my hips ache so bad!
Symptoms: Reflux and heartburn, I can't wait for that to be over!! I am also swollen, not too bad but enough. I can't wait to be able to wear my wedding rings again!!!

Cravings: I've been wanting smoothies... and anything cold and ice of course!

Best moment this week: Scheduling my induction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I am 39 weeks and that I will be meeting my little guy in just a few days!!!!!!!!! I went to the Dr on Tuesday and was dilated 4 and 75% effaced and have had no changes which is good because my DR is out of town this week and I really want her to deliver! We have a date and a time to be induced and I am so excited!!!! I just may be getting the best Valentine's day present I could ever ask for and one that will last a lifetime :)

The hubby will be home tomorrow night (yay) so we will have one last weekend together as a family of 3 and it works out that he gets to be home for the next 2 weeks ( still working but home.) I have been enjoying this week with my sweet Brody and giving him all the attention he needs as I know once Hudson is here it is really going to be a change for Brody. He is very excited and asks me if Hudson is coming everyday and I know he will be a great big brother!!!!

I can't wait to be a mother of two and have two precious sweet little baby boy blessings!!!!!!!!!

Love is in the air...

Today I am linking up with  Becky to share my love story!
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We started dating in October of 2005 so that would be 6 years!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
It was my freshman year of college at UK and my roommate/best friend (at the time) was dating a guy named Chase and he and Timmy (hubby) were best friends. Timmy was in the Navy and was home on leave and Chase thought it would be fun for us to go on a double date. We went to the Haunted Trail in Jacobson Park and to Denny's. It was a blind date, I didn't really know a thing about him.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We just celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary in January!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We got married in my hometown at the church I had grown up going to. It was a big wedding of about 220 guests!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We have all sorts of names like baby, honey, sweetie, babe just the normal little nick-names.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
I love how he is such a strong, hard worker for our family.
I love his funny personality and how he can always make me laugh.
I love that he is such a great father!!

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
We had always talked about going to Red River Gorge./Natural Bridge. He had been alot of times and always talked about it and I had been wanting to go. It was March 17th and he took me there. We hiked up to Natural Bridge and I just remember sweating and being all out of breath once we finally made it to the top. We were walking around just taking in the view when he got down on one knee and has me to be his wife.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Flowers and Teddy bear, lots of flowers. He always goes above and beyond even when I tell him not to. He is a really good gift-giver and always remembers.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
I'm both. I love anything and everything!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I would love to go somewhere tropical with him like St. Lucia, St. Johns, Mexico, or Bora Bora.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
This Valentine's Day we will hopefully be getting a special little Valentine... Hudson Trent!!!!

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Hoping for a precious, sweet healthy baby boy!!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Never go to bed mad and keep Christ in your relationship and home!!!!! I have learned alot over the past 4 years of our marriage.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Phone Dump Sunday

I have been slacking in the blog posting department, had a busy week! Hudson has still not made his arrival (I've tried everything) so if he doesn't come this week he will be here
sometime next week for sure, maybe my Valentine's Present?? Timmy was home for the weekend and has already had to leave out again. Tonight we are going to my cousin Lacey's for a little Superbowl get together and over to my parents. I haven't taken alot of pictures with my camera lately but always snap pictures with my phone, so here is a phone dump of what we have been up to this last week and weekend (pictures are all out of order).

Resting on the couch with my two babies! Can't wait for Hudson to be on my chest and Brody on my side!!

Playing games at Mr. Gattis! Brody loves going to Mr. Gattis, we usually go about once a date. It is a special little treat for us!

Brody Luke in his new hat and jersey his daddy brought him home !

My little handy man while Daddy is away!

My Boys!!

He was exhausted! This is how he fell asleep at my parents the other evening!

Working out..

He loves his little "Hudson" baby.....He will randomly get it and carry it around and take care of it.

It is a thing with Brody and Timmy that if he is good throughout the week once Daddy gets home for the weekend he will bring Brody a special little present... this weekend it was a Alabama hat and Jersey!

Every night at bedtime we do our nightly routine and then Brody plays a few games or watches a cartoon on my Ipad, he often falls asleep with it. Look how big he looks in his footed pajamas!!! Love it.

Brody was so excited to see that "Sunshine" the cat came back for a visit. He kept saying,
"Sunshine I was so worried about you."
