Brody goes to Pre-school

I had been going back and forth about weather or not I wanted to send Brody to pre-school and finally I decided that it was time. I have been blessed to be able to stay home with Brody and I guess I was always kind of selfish and didn't want to "share" him but don't worry because he had no problem and never wanted to leave me either, ha. Since we have moved to WV I thought pre-school would be good for him in many different ways. Also since he will be starting kindergarten next year I definitely thought he needed some type of school setting and structure before I threw him into Kindergarten! Also since we don't know too many people here in WV I thought it would be a good place for him to meet and have friends!

He is going on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-12 and he loves it! He has done great with drop off and his teacher says he is perfect and that he definitely stole her heart!! I am so thankful for the pre-school I found and his teacher is so sweet and super great!!

Mid-Week Randoms

I'm back!! Sort of, kind of, I really hope so! I have missed the blogging world (besides some great giveaways here and there, tell your friends!). Between moving, getting a new house put together, making trips back home, and enjoying my babies I stay super busy!

I thought I would write about some mid-week random's, then I realized it was Thursday but that's okay, right?

-- Hudson is now 17 months old and is officially weaned from nursing! It was time and he did great, still has a few moments but has done so much better than I thought. I just quit cold turkey and that is what worked for us!

-- We have been living in our new house, in a new state for about 4 months now and we are still getting adjusted. I hope to post some house pictures soon. What's the best way to take house pictures? I feel like anytime I take them , they just aren't blog worthy, ha. I will say I haven't done a whole lot of decorating and splurging because we know this is not "home" but just temporary!

-- Has this not just been a rainy, gloomy summer or what? I feel like it is always rainy and cloudy in WV so that is why we head back to KY about 1 time during the week and on the weekend!

-- Brody Luke has learned how to ride his bike without training wheels this summer, yay! He also finished his first summer of tee-ball where he did an awesome job!

-- I post a lot on IG so follow me there, if you would like! Lea_Liz

Here is to hopes that I can start blogging again and adding some pictures!!

Staples Review- Nook

The thought of getting a nook has ran thru my mind several times but I always just think I will grab a hardback book or read a book on my iPhone, so I never took the plunge of getting a tablet! Staples contacted me to do a review on a tablet and I got so excited! Not sure about you all but often times when I grab a hardback book I want to read at night while the kids are asleep ( in my bed of course) but I don't want to turn a light on, so on this nook I received it actually is a Nook simple touch with a  glow light, PERFECT! The Nook simple touch is just the perfect size, small enough to throw into a bag or carry with you yet the perfect size for reading. It is slim and sleek, perfection! I also like that it is just an e-reader, it is simply to read. You won't get distracted by wanting to get online and play games. I have already downloaded a few books and started reading and I love it, I can't wait to read more on it! It is very simple and easy to use! What I love most about this Kindle Nook is that it is user-friendly, light weight, compact, crisp text, and the glow light is my favorite feature! If you don't have an e-reader or tablet and are in the market for one, I would definitely recommend this Nook that you can order from Staples.
Full disclosure: provided me with these products for review. The thoughts and opinions expressed are strictly my own. Feel free to shop their entire line of tablets online.

Sanus TV Mount Review/Giveaway

I was recently contacted by a company that is recommending and promoting a new product recommended for families to enhance safety for children, which I am always looking for ways to do so.

SANUS and Safe Kids Worldwide
Launch TV Safety Initiative
For many Americans, a flat panel TV is a great way to enjoy family time and entertainment.  However, most parents are unaware of the safety risks that flat panel TVs pose for kids.  Due to increasing size and new ultra thin designs, today’s flat panel TVs can easily tip over when bumped or pulled, toppling off of furniture and causing injury or even death.
Bringing this risk to the forefront, SANUS, the leading designer and manufacturer of flat panel TV wall mounts, has partnered with Safe Kids Worldwide.  By educating consumers on the risk of unsecured flat panel TV’s, SANUS and Safe Kids Worldwide offer safe solutions for families across the nation by reducing TV tip-over related injuries and fatalities.
A 2011 US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report on flat panel TV safety revealed:
·         A child is killed every three weeks from an unsecured TV
·         Every 45 minutes a child visits an emergency room due to a TV tip-over related injury
·         Between 2000 and 2011, 215 fatalities have resulted from TV tip-over
·         An estimated 17,000 people each year, the majority of which are children, are treated for injuries from TV tip-overs
·         Reported cases have increased almost 25% from 2006  to 2010, and over the last 10 years, injuries have increased by 31%
SANUS TV Mounting Tips:
·         Easy 1, 2, 3 installation with a wall template to ensure even placement
  • Online video walkthrough of simple installation available at any time
  • No additional tools necessary – all required installation hardware is included in package
  • Live customer support available 6 days a week

First Aid

It is very important to always have a first aid kit available in your house and your car as you never know when an accident may arise! Please find below a compiled list of top five items that should be an immediate addition into your family’s first aid kit to ensure safety. Every kit should keep the basics of: butterfly sutures, gauze, floss or fishing string, surgical tape, adhesive dressing, etc. but it’s time to revamp the technology in a medical kit to ensure family and those around you safety.
If you haven’t yet, add these necessities to your first aid kit to guarantee you have everything covered:
When treating someone with an injury, it is common for caregivers to panic and forget all of their basic CPR and first aid training. Have a pocket guide that will refresh you.

When doing CPR on someone other than your loved ones, it is a very good idea to use a CPR One-Way Valve barrier, and you can purchase the face valves or the higher end versions that look more like a mask.

IDENTA TOUCH&KNOW: with these kits, anyone can test drugs and chemical substances to ensure when alerting authorities / figuring out next steps to help those in needs what the exact problem is.
Perfect for powering up your cell phone and tablet when you can't find a power outlet, provides a last line of defense for staying connected to those that matter in a time of need.
