I need some advice on Digital SLR Camera's....

I know I am slacking on my blogging but this my last week of Nursing school and that means Finals!! I had a busy family weekend and am now studying for my last 2 finals on Wednesday and Thursday!

I have been wanting to get a good Digital SLR camera for quite some time and I really wanted to get one before we go on vacation (25 days woo hoo) so Timmy just called me from work and told me to research them and see what I woudl like and I may just get one for Mother's Day! All I really know is that Cannon and Nikon are really good and I have heard a lot of good things about the Canon Rebel's and I also know the higher the MP the better.

So if you have one please reccomend it to me! I want something that is simple to use, clear, good zoom, etc. Give me some camera advice Please!!!!

Like I said before mine is a Nikon D5000. I got it last year for my birthday & I have loved it! It is super easy to use. The zoom is just going to depend on the lens(s) you get. I have a couple friends that have it & love it too. I also have some friends that have a Rebel XTi maybe?? I think that's it...anyway they really like their Rebel too & I was close to getting one of those. I think either way-Nikon or Cannon, you'll be happy. Good luck & Happy Mother's Day week!

I've had both, I am now a loyal Canon user. But for those heavy duty "photographer" cameras, Nikon is a favorite of many. Good luck on your finals!

I love my Canon Rebel xsi. My best friend has the comparable Nikon and she loves it as well! I think they are both great cameras. I got the one that is in the $500-600 range at Sam's Club (it was $200 cheaper to get it there than at my local camera store). There is another one that is a step above mine, but the only difference is that it takes movies. We didn't want that feature for our "nice camera"...Sorry I wrote a book!

I have the Canon XSi and it is a great camera. It isn't difficult to learn to use at all and it takes awesome pics. As far as the zoom goes, you can buy different lenses that will have greater zoom than the one that comes with the camera. However, the kit lens is great for everyday use. I've never used a Nikon, but I can't say enough good things about the Canon Rebel!

I have the Nikon D40 (love it!) It is now discontinued as of January b/c Nikon came out with a whole bunch of new models this year. I highly recommend it or any Nikon. The D40 was the "entry level" DSLR at the time. Good luck!
Adorama.com usually has really good deals on cameras!
